As Prices Fall, 3D Video Production Coming to Corporate Communications

"Tennis isn't the only thing hogging headlines at the US Open Tennis grand slam tournament. Panasonic showed-off the HDC-SDT750 handheld 3D camcorder's capabilities at the ongoing US Open tennis competition in New York.

At the ongoing U.S. Open tennis tournament, Panasonic showed that the HDC-SDT750 3D camcorder can shoot 3D videos minus the heavy hardware associated with 3D videography. The camcorder, available in October, comes with a removable dual-lens 3D conversion attachment which turns the 2D AVCHD-standard (Advanced Video Coding High Definition) 1,080p HD unit into a 3D recording system. The 3D content can be played back by connecting the camera to a 3D-capable HDTV with an HDMI cable or by inserting an SD card with 3D content into the appropriate slot on a 3D HDTV or a Blu-ray player connected to a 3D TV." "Panasonic Solutions Company today highlighted several significant announcements that will foster the next wave of professional 3D production. With the availability of the highly-anticipated AG-3DA1 fully-integrated Full HD professional 3D camcorder and 25" 3D production monitor, and a new multi-year partnership with Bexel, Panasonic is making affordable 3D production tools more accessible to a broad range of professional content producers. Mercedes Moves Magically into 3D video production ...

"Frankly, you could've stopped at "Mercedes SLS AMG" and "Isle of Man," but toss in ex-Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, a litany of 3D cameras, helicopters and a closed section of the Mountain Road... and well, you've got magic in the making. The crew here set out to create the "world's fastest 3D film," and honestly, we aren't in any position to doubt 'em. We're also guessing that this 4 minute and 2 second masterpiece will be looped in Benz dealerships around the world, and for good reason. Word has it that the clip will be shown on Sky 3D across the pond, but there's no telling when it'll grace three-dee screens in North America and beyond. While we wait, feast your senses on the 2D version just beyond the break.
