    Will Google stumble in 2011?

"Google, a giant in the field of software industry started with a search engine, and today they have extended their empire beyond a software engine. However, with an extensive desire to be in the lead of the ongoing technological race, Google can these days be found to be involved in arenas which can ultimately lead to its downfall. Some of the reasons why this may happen are as follows." To read the entire article. click here.

    Google dominates online video views...

"Facebook's video dominance didn't last long.  One month after jumping past Yahoo to be the number two online video property beyond Google, Facebook dropped back down to number three for the month of September, according to Tuesday datafrom comScore.

The two are neck-and-neck, however. Google Sites, driven by YouTube, captured the top spot with 144.2 million unique viewers while Yahoo and Facebook battled it out for a distant second- and third-place finish. Yahoo had 54.4 million viewers last month, while Facebook had 52.2 million."  To read the entire PC Magazine article, written by Chloe Albanesius,  regrading how 'Google dominates online video views...', click here.

Will Google Make Video Production Content Providers Giggle?

"Google gave a live demonstration of Google TV at Berlin’s IFA Tuesday, and CEO Eric Schmidt promised it would be a couch potato’s dream come true.

“Once you have Google television, you’re going to be very busy,” Schmidt said. “It’s going to ruin your evening.”

...Google TV is essentially an interface, blurring the distinctions between programming you get from your cable or satellite provider with search — Google’s bread-and-butter. It is set to launch on a Sony HDTV, a Sony Blu-ray player and a Logitech set-top box in the United States this fall (other countries to follow), each with its own “incredible” remote control. After tapping a search button, a single box appears for searching the web, live television programming, recorded shows, on-demand programming, pay TV, online video clips and more...

What Google won’t do is get into the content creation business. “There’s a line that we decided not to cross,” said Schmidt. “We want to work with content providers … and we’re very unlikely to do any content production.”  To read the entire Wired article, written by Eliot Van Buskirk, regrading 'Will Google make video production content providers giggle?', click here.

Wow of the Week: Google's latest online video production experiment

"Ever since MTV decided that shows like “The Real World” were better business than actual music, the best way to watch a music video has been online.

And a nifty little project from video director Chris Milk and the folks at Google shows how geeking out on HTML5 can make the experience even better on the Web.

The Wilderness Downtown,” which Google calls a “musical experience made specifically for the browser,” is set to Arcade Fire’s “We Used to Wait” and takes the viewer on a journey focused on a location from childhood — provided that the user enters the address and Google Street View covers it."

Video Production: Green Screen Use Soars

We had a few of the executives from Alladinin our studios to film against our green screen--nice people and ton of fun.

More and more, we are contacted to film exectives, actors, etc., in front of a green/blue screen so that companies can use the material on their website.

I think it was the YouTube/Google deal that put "we need video on our web" in the minds of marketing executives everywhere.

As oneCMOtold me: "A website without video is so 2006".

    We respectfully agree.

    Cheers,

    Charlie Stone
