US on track to finally win Olympic medal count...
Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 8:10AM In this nutty world, where stability and security seems fleeting, its lemon refreshing to relax and admire the beautiful predictability of the winter Olympics. That isn't a slam against the games, but rather a recognition that during these turbulent days, getting catetonic cheering on the straight line of Curling stones is better than booze.
Quick: Since 1924, how many times has the US won the total winter Olympic medal count. Being good AmeriKans, we thought the US must have won most, because America, F-YEAH.
Answer: The US has only won the total medal count once, in 1936. Once. That's right. Once. Boo.
But this year, the US is on track to win the whole enchilada--the US is leading with 26 medals, Germany is gaining with 23.
That's thrilling, because what else do we cheer these days, our national debt, F-YEAH.
